I have been both looking forward to and dreading this moment for a long time. I suppose that’s true of any major undertaking in my life. And this certainly fits into that category.
Over the past year, I have received four clearly defined examples of Cinematic Chiasmus, only one of which I’ve turned into a full-fledged article so far: Ghostbusters. When I say clearly defined, I mean that the man who sent them to me formatted them in the way I do all of my chiasmus summaries, so there’s no doubt that they work.
And I just received four more ideas of films to analyze and see if they are examples of Cinematic Chiasmus from my amazingly prescient reader Jordan. He has a perfect batting record up to this point, so I’m guessing he’s right on the money with these ones.
I’ve been busy for quite a while with projects at work and other things going on that have taken my attention away from giving all of these things my full attention. I have mapped out several other ones I’d love to write. They’re just so big and daunting. But I’m taking a week off of work to finally knuckle down and see how many of them I can get done.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to accomplish everything I want to, but I will try. I hope to have a whole bunch of Cinematic Chiasmus articles ready soon. Wish me luck!
