I’m not the only member of my family who loves to share innovative ideas in writing. Every one of my brothers has written amazing books/articles I’ve had the privilege of reading, and I’d like to share one of them with you.
A Metric Ton of Research
Nathan Lockard recently published an article on Nintendo Life entitled “We Look To The Past To Predict Every First-Party ‘Switch 2’ Release Until 2029.” When my eldest brother writes about video games, he goes into an astonishing amount of depth. For example, he analyzed nearly 800 games on a dozen consoles to put together the following chart. That includes every game produced by Nintendo since 1985. He knows what he’s talking about.
I know a thing or two about movies that I talk about on this website, but Nathan knows about movies, video games, programming, and many other topics that go way beyond my wheelhouse.
Peering Into the Future of Nintendo
Every video game console has its lifecycle, and the Switch has had an amazing run. It’s really cool to see the way Nathan formulates his hypothesis about what’s coming soon on the next console after the Nintendo Switch is phased out. As the famous saying goes, history doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes. That’s where Nathan comes from in his exploration of what could be coming from future entries in the Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and other franchises.
Whether you agree or disagree with his specific game titles or dates, it’s hard to argue with his methods. He’s absolutely dedicated to this topic, and it shows in his work. I can definitely see a lot, if not all, of his predictions coming true. You might be surprised by some of the specificity he offers.
I highly recommend checking out his article. It is a great read, and it will give you an educated guess on what is on the horizon in the video game world.
