When Bill Murray Turned a Baby Ruth Into a Tootsie Roll

All right, I’m in the mood for something fun. And since it’s nearly Halloween, I want to relate it to candy.

Baby Ruth in a Pool

Remember Caddyshack, that classic 1980 comedy that helped propel a young Bill Murray into the limelight? It seems like every famous comedian from the 1970s and 1980s was in that film, and Murray still managed to give a standout performance.

One of the most famous parts in that movie is the infamous pool scene, which ends with Murray picking up a Baby Ruth candy bar from an empty pool and eating it.

Bill Murray’s Tootsie Roll

As it turns out, Bill Murray managed to accomplish something pretty remarkable with that candy bar. He turned a Baby Ruth into a Tootsie Roll. “How?” you might ask. I’ll be happy to show you.

Two years after Caddyshack, Bill Murray appeared in a major film called Tootsie. His funny performance in Caddyshack, which involved a Baby Ruth, created more opportunities for him to appear in other high-profile comedies. So, in other words, he turned a Baby Ruth into a Tootsie role.

Oh, did I misspell “role” earlier? I have a habit of doing that. Whether you think it was a trick or treat, I hope you enjoyed this little joke.

This is the Deja Reviewer wishing you a happy Halloween.
