Merry Christmas! It’s the most joyous time of the year. I don’t smile because my life is perfect; I smile because my Savior is perfect.
Wiping Worries Away
There are always things to worry about in life. Will I be able to get a job that supports my family? Am I being a good enough husband and father? Can I continue to resist temptations and be better each day?
I hope I will always be able to answer yes to these questions. However, there’s one thing that I don’t have to wonder about, and it has the power to wipe away all of my fears and doubts. That is the fact that Jesus Christ was born, lived, suffered for my sins, died, and was resurrected. The Son of God performed an infinite Atonement for all mankind. As a result, I will also be resurrected, and I have the opportunity to have my sins forgiven.
Overcoming the World
Jesus understands everything I am going through. He’s been there. When He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane, He experienced every disappointment, pain, sin, and sadness I have gone through. He loved me enough to do all of that for me. And even after knowing the worst parts of me, He still loves me.
So yes, this Christmas I will smile and be joyful. Not because life is going perfectly but because I know in Whom I have put my trust. Remember in John 16:33, Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Jesus Christ overcame the world with His righteousness, pure love, and perfect obedience to Heavenly Father’s will. I strive to follow in His footsteps, as I hope we all do.
This is the Deja Reviewer wishing you a Merry Christmas!
