2025 has been nothing short of miraculous. When I lost my job in May, I had no idea how things would turn out. Would I be able to find a new job quickly? If not, how would I take care of things in the meantime?
As it so happens, I didn’t have to fear at all. Neighbors, friends, and family members have stepped in to help me in angelic ways, especially in the last two months of the year. I’ve received gifts of food, Christmas presents for my children, and money that are all greatly appreciated. I am astonished beyond measure at the outpouring of love and charity I’ve experienced.
“Thank you” hardly captures the feelings in my heart I yearn to express to those who have given richly in my time of discouragement. This must be what George Bailey felt at the end of It’s a Wonderful Life. It’s not that my problems are gone and my life is free of struggle; it’s that I’m surrounded by angels intent on blessing me and helping me when I feel overwhelmed.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me, prayed for me, and cared about me. God bless you. There is something extraordinary about being on the receiving end of others’ generosity and kindness. It has made me want to step up and be a better man. My heart is humbled.
Whatever 2026 brings, both exhilaration and exhaustion, I’m willing to go through it all. Every heartache and hard-won victory chips away at my imperfections, molding me into a meeker man. May we all approach the New Year with courage and hope. I have seen too many miracles to doubt that great things are around the corner.
