I’m finally doing it! Back in the summer of 1997, I wrote my first screenplay about a group of four brothers camping in the woods who get terrorized by a creature of pure evil. It was called The Paddielphia Experiment, which is a wordplay on The Philadelphia Experiment and the fact that we had a rather large cat named Paddi. She was a sweet cat, and she would often sleep with her back up against me as I sat and read books for hours on end. But she definitely had a temper, so that’s part of why I wanted to make a movie about her.
All of my brothers and my younger sister were game to star in the film, and my dad handled the camerawork. It was a fun experience. Afterwards, I edited together the final product from the rough cut we had filmed. However, about 10 years ago I lost the only copy of that finished film during a move from Washington to Utah, and I only had the rough cut left. Last week, I finally decided to digitize the old VHS footage, and I am currently in the process of editing it back to its former glory, complete with outtakes and alternate takes.
So that’s what I’m working on right now. I’m sorry I don’t have a complete article to share with you this time, but I hope to have that movie done soon so I can share it with you. It’s quite a work of art.
This is the Deja Reviewer bidding you farewell until we meet again.
