I Finally Found the Full Soundtrack of The Last Starfighter Online!

I can’t tell you how much I love the soundtrack of The Last Starfighter. I’ve searched high and low on the Internet for years to find the complete soundtrack. For a time, there was something close to it on YouTube, but about two years ago it was removed. I periodically check YouTube and elsewhere to see if there might be more of it out there. But I’ve been disappointed for quite a while. The best I’ve been able to find are bits and pieces here and there.

At the start of August 2023, I searched one more time without much hope. To my amazement, however, I found exactly what I’ve been yearning for all this time!

WaterTower Music recently released the complete soundtrack of The Last Starfighter in its own YouTube playlist. And it’s glorious. Every track is in chronological order, and nothing is left out. I love it. Not only do we get “Record Breaker,” but we get “Krill” and “Good Luck Starfighter,” too! These tracks are easy to overlook in favor of the more bombastic crowd-pleasers. Everyone knows “Main Title,” “Centauri into Space,” and “Alex’s First Test,” but the other musical pieces are just as great in my opinion.

So far, this soundtrack has managed to fly under the radar with only a few hundred views and a handful of likes on all of the videos in the playlist. I hope to change that by letting my wonderful readers know that The Last Starfighter soundtrack is available to be listened to in all its glory right now.

I don’t want to keep this a secret. I want everyone to be able to experience the joy of musical greatness. Feel free to click the links above, and get ready to be immersed in composer Craig Safan’s superb score. I know what I’ll be listening to for the next several articles I write, at least.

The only really memorable piece of music that you’d give multiple listens to from The Last Starfighter is the main title piece. The rest are just pieces and motifs cut to beats of the movie footage. Having said that, the main title music is an amazing theme, definitely gives any rousing John Williams theme a run for its money.
